     The Recearch Center for Engineering Science has students from a variety of countries.  The students receive training and carry out research at the Center under the guidance of professors in accordance with the master’s and doctoral degree programs.  Detail information on the curriculums for the master’s and doctoral degree programs of Graduate School of Engineering and Resource Science, Akita University is available at the following URLs:

     Candidates who want to study at the center need to receive a scholarship.  Scholarships include a scholarship supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of the Japanese Government, scholarships supported by governments or universities that send students to the center, and scholarships supported by foundations and other institutions.   There are two procedures for receiving a scholarship supported by MEXT.  Candidates living in countries outside Japan can obtain information on the scholarship supported by MEXT at Japanese embassies in their own countries.  Candidates who want to study at the center can submit application forms to MEXT through Japanese embassies in their countries.  Candidates are advised to discuss in advance their research program with research stuff (professors, associate professors and lecturers) who will supervise the candidates at the center.  The other procedure is to submit an application form to MEXT through Akita University, which the Recearch Center for Engineering Science belongs to.  If a candidate wishes to use this procedure, the candidate must discuss in advance his/her research program with research stuff (professor, associate professor and lecturer) who will supervise the candidate at the center.  Information can be obtained at the following URL:

     Candidates who will be supported by foundations or other institutions must discuss in advance their research program and necessary matters for staying in Akita with research stuff (professor, associate professor and lecturer) who will supervise the candidate at the center.  When the conditions for staying in Akita have been satisfied, the candidate can start the procedure to study at the center under supervision by a supervisor.  Information can be obtained at the following URL:
